Trail Notes:

Nice trail by the river. It was not as buggy as we expected for being by the water. All kinds of fun stuff to do near the trail too. A walking track, fields to play in, skate park which was fun on the scooters too, basketball and tennis courts.

Trail Notes:

The trail was flooded in a couple places, but the alternate routes gave us a chance to check out some different scenery.

Trail Notes:

This was where I learned to walk on a leash. I followed (hearded) two humans along the trail one way, on the way back I figured it all out and walked along beside my human. I enjoyed a quick play in the river after the walk. This is a great place to walk in town yet it feels like your in the woods.

Trail Notes:

What a beautiful walk down by the river.
In town but you don't feel like your in town, it gives you that little bit of nature.

Trail Notes:

One important thing to note about this trail is that Hosmer Field is now under construction (they are replacing the track) and is closed. If you are going to do this trail, it's important to note that you'll need to park by the tennis courts, and you're only able to walk in one direction and then turn around.

Trail Notes:

It was a pretty good walking trail. Nice river view and you could hear the birds, so that was cool. It's also a quick walk to do if you need a place to think and clear your mind. Very calming

Trail Notes:

The Swift River Walking Trail is located within the river valley on the Rumford side of the bridge separating the two towns. You can enter the trail through the Hosmer Feild Complex entrance or through a road off to the left when leaving the High School. Our Walking For Fitness class opted to take the route that started at the road off of the High School, if you go this route you will also pass the skate park and the tennis courts.
The start of the tail currently has many tree stumps as the town prepares to move the trail further from the Swift River. This is happening due to the river undercutting the land the paved trail sits on and is causing it to sag. The further the you go into the trail the more you are shielded from the sun due to the thick foliage above. You will walk passed a cement building which used to be used as a GeoCash site but now is not, you will also go over a wooden bridge.
The entire trail is a half mile but is a whole mile round trip! It is also suitable for anyone of any fitness ability or anyone who has walking limitations as the entire trail is paved. Something that is worth noting is that the trail is flooded roughly half way through due to snow melt, other than that, a perfect trail for anyone!
