2024 Winter Beneficiaries

Chisholm Ski Club
“The Club supports the River Valley Community by providing skiing opportunities for its youth, by cooperating with and enhancing Black Mountain’s efforts, and by providing an economic boost to the area’s restaurants and motels.” (text taken from the group’s website). The group has been an institution in the River Valley for decades, with an army of loyal and longtime volunteers helping to build a love for alpine and Nordic skiing in generation after generation of local youth. “Funding from the Second Nature Adventure Challenge will help us continue to connect River Valley youth to skiing and snowboarding opportunities,” said board member Roger Arsenault.

Oxford Hills School District
An Outdoor Learning Coordinator at this district supports schools across several towns in taking their students outside to learn lessons across many subjects. The Coordinator brings snowshoes to schools for students, and new pairs are needed for PreK students; we hope this will help to build a love for outdoor winter fun at an early age.

Woodstock Elementary School
This small school is fortunate to have a nature trail in their backyard that connects them to the Buck’s Ledge Community Forest as an outdoor learning space and natural playground. They’re in need of new snowshoes for their K-5 students and Community Rewards Funding from the SNAC is a perfect fit for this need.
