Daddy O’s Acts of Kindness Foundation
This nonprofit organization was created by Aaron and Amanda Ouellette, the owners of a popular diner in Oxford named Daddy O’s, to help meet the needs of the greater Oxford Hills community. The Foundation hosts a popular monthly community meal that is free of charge, with any donations helping to support the group’s many philanthropic efforts. In recent months they’ve given away thousands of dollars to Keeping Oxford Warm (to help with winter heating bills for area residents) and made generous donations to a dozen charities as part of a “12 Days of Christmas” benefit. They operate a food pantry out of the lobby of their restaurant, and are giving away lots more food due to the pandemic. Learn more on their Facebook page.
Dirigo Middle & High School Pantries, RSU56
Like many school districts, RSU56 has been instrumental in providing food for families during the pandemic, preparing and delivering thousands of meals each week, month after month. They also coordinated with area food pantries to secure food for students and their families, and most recently have started their own school pantries at the middle and high schools to help meet the ongoing need of student hunger. The pantry provides help with no questions asked and no judgement, and works to discretely provide food for students and their families.
Woodstock Food Pantry
Operating out of the Woodstock Seventh Day Adventist Church, this pantry serves Woodstock, Bethel, Greenwood, West Paris, South Paris and Sumner. They are currently open on third Tuesdays from 10:00-12:00. Find them on Facebook here.
